What steps will I take this year? I may make plans and set goals, but it is God who will direct my steps.
Solomon, who took both wise and foolish steps, wrote, “A man’s heart plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps” (Proverbs 16:9, NKJV).
Even Jeremiah, to whom came the word of the Lord, wrote, “O Lord, I know the way of man is not in himself; it is not in man who walks to direct his own steps. O Lord, correct me . . .” (Jeremiah 10:23-24, NKJV).
I pray that by the end of this year, I can look back and see that at least most of the steps I have taken were wise steps, directed by the LORD.
What about you? What can we do to minimize how many wrong steps we take and how many are the right ones?
