Proverbs 9:10 (NKJV) — 10 “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

Definitions of wisdom and knowledge. The starting point for wisdom is the fear of the Lord.  Understanding is connected to the knowledge of the Holy One. The ways of God should not be a complete mystery to us. We should know not only His works or acts, but His ways, or the principles that guide His actions. Then we can begin to understand what God will do in a given situation.
