Proverbs 9:1 (NKJV) — 1 Wisdom has built her house, She has hewn out her seven pillars;
The two houses. Both folly and wisdom are pictured as having a house. Folly has a house to which she seduces her victims through sensual promises. Wisdom has a house to which she invites pupils for instruction. The house of wisdom has seven pillars. The number seven symbolizes divine fullness, perfection, and completeness. It comes from a Hebrew word meaning “to be complete, to be full, to be satisfied, to have enough.” By contrast, the house of folly is incomplete, imperfect, unsatisfying.
